Friends of the Livesey Museum for Children

Seeking to run the Livesey independently since closure by Southwark

The Livesey Museum for Children has been run successfully for 34 years by Southwark Council. It catered for 18,000 visitors a year in a deprived area. It was much loved and ran on a shoestring, but the Council closed it down with very little notice on 29 Feb 2008. The Friends is a newly constituted group, set up to challenge the Council's decision and to propose to take on the trust to run the Museum for the community.
